Oh What To Do????

We have a house, that was donated to Renacer, that is out in Herredia (about a 30 minute drive by car from here) and is going to be used for the girls (ages 18+) who have graduated and can’t live at home due to whatever reason.

The idea of the home is that the girls would be totally responsible for themselves; cooking, cleaning, buying groceries, etc. but they would have supervision by a “house mom” or multiple ones that would stay there for a certain amount of time. However they have not been able to find someone to fill this position.

Today, Cindy, my boss, presented an idea for me to pray over. She along with our director, Don Sergio, would like me to consider moving out there and filling that position. (I would remain doing what I do now at Renacer as well.) They would love to fill the position as of yesterday, if you know what I mean.

There are so many cons and pros! I don’t want to be selfish and just say “no” yet at the same time I don’t want to say “yes” just because they really need this. At this moment the big cons are that it would take almost 2 hours or more by bus to get to where I live now and to and from the pick up spot for work. I also would be working 24/7. Then the big pros are that the girls would finally have a place to live besides at Renacer or with friends and I would not have to pay rent or bills so that would help me out majorly financially speaking.

I would love for you guys to pray with me that I will truly listen to God on this and not only be lead by my emotions or selfish desires. Thanks so much!!! I’ll keep you informed on this!

Have you been a house-mum before? Or a relief worker at a group home before? To this day, these were my very favorite jobs, and so very rewarding! I think, if you choose to do so, you will love, love, love it! But, maybe you can barter with management, and ask for a few days off at a time, so you can have Sunshine-God days, apart from others. It would be a blessing to have your rent and utilities paid for. I will pray for wisdom in your decision!

Love, HJM
